Training Camp in Örnsköldsvik

For the last four days, all Norwegian skijumper were having a training camp in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden.
Last year, it was Axu’s debut competing as a real Norwegian in competitions. He even took the victory during a competition ahead of Kenneth Gangnes and Tom Hilde.
This year is a bit different. The skijumpers are still jumping with the small “Dragon Skis”. Tom Hilde even landed a new world record of 91 meters with dragon skis during training.
Yesterday, a competition called “Dragon Cup” were held where they jumped on the K35 and K55 with short skis and in the end, they took the normal skijumping skis for the K90 hill.
Axu falled right after the first jump and came in last. The victory went to Anders Bardal, followed by Atle Pedersen Rønsen and Andreas Stjernen.

Today I was actually jumping good with the dragon skis for the first time! It’s very difficult to jump with normal equipment right after using short skis or switching the equipment in the same day! It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the time in Sweden.

More news from the training camp will follow in the next days!
